Discretionary trading practice

A trading trainer where money is never the score.

Most trading games rank you by profit, which quietly teaches the one habit that ruins accounts: taking more risk to climb. Candlefall is built the other way round. Position size is fixed by the software, the daily loss cap is not negotiable, and the leaderboard ignores your P&L entirely.

Practice on a broker Demo MT5 account. Live trading uses your own funded MT5 account and puts real money at risk.

One round at a time

A round is one symbol, one direction, one position. You never have more than one open, which is the constraint that makes everything else possible.

  1. 01

    Read the chart

Live candles, your own indicators, and a structural read of where liquidity sits above and below price. A setup score rates the side you are considering — a hint about structure, never an instruction.

  2. 02

    Enter on your terms

You choose symbol, direction, stop distance and target. The software works out position size from your account balance so the stop costs exactly the risk you picked — no more, whatever you were feeling at the time.

  3. 03

    Manage the trade

Move the stop to breakeven, lock in a gain, bank half, or exit. Actions are ranked by consequence so the safe move never looks like the irreversible one, and your open R stays pinned to the top of the screen.

  4. 04

    Get an honest result

Every round resolves with a reason and an R-multiple measured against the risk you took at entry. When the platform cannot establish why a position closed, it says so rather than guessing.

The rules you would break, enforced by software

Discipline is easy to describe and hard to keep at 2pm on a losing day. These are not reminders — they are refusals.

Fixed position size

Risk per round is a percentage of your balance, and the lot size is calculated from it. You choose low, medium or high — all three are fractions of the same ceiling. There is no way to size up after a loss.

A daily loss cap that means it

Losses accumulate against a daily budget. Hit it and entry is locked for the rest of the day. A winning round does not refill the budget, because revenge trading is exactly what that would fund.

Your R can't drift

The distance from entry to stop is frozen the moment a round opens. Trail your stop, bank half, move your target — the arithmetic that scores you still divides by the risk you originally took.

Nothing stays open forever

Every position has a maximum hold. If it is still open when that expires, the platform closes it, retries if the broker refuses, and tells you loudly rather than pretending it succeeded.

Ranked on reading, not on winning

During a live round you call each one-minute candle — higher, about the same, or lower. The leaderboard ranks players on that accuracy alone.

Never P&L, never R-multiple, never account balance. Ranking on money would reintroduce the exact incentive the guardrails exist to remove, and showing strangers your real trading results is a line worth holding anyway. You can hide yourself from the table and still see your own standing.

The call is cosmetic by design. It never touches your position size, your R, your daily cap or your progress — so there is no reason to game it and nothing to win by doing so.

Tiers unlock tools, not leverage

Advancing works like a prop-firm evaluation: reach a profit target inside a time window, across a minimum number of trading days, without breaching a drawdown limit. Passing gives you more ways to manage a trade — never a bigger risk allowance. Failing restarts the attempt; it never takes back a tier.

Commentary, not signals

The pattern detector names what a candle just did — an engulfing close, a revisit of the round's high. Past tense only. It is filtered so it cannot drift into prediction, and it stays quiet while your candle call is still open so it can never hand you the answer.

Getting started

Start here

Demo MT5 account

Register, then link a broker Demo account through api2trade. Orders go to real demo capital on MetaTrader 5 — same round mechanics and guardrails, no real money at risk.

Demo fills are broker demo orders, not an in-app simulation. Link the account from Accounts when you are ready to trade.

Live MT5 account

Connect your own funded MetaTrader 5 account through api2trade and the same round mechanics place real orders. You bring the broker and the capital; Candlefall enforces the sizing, the cap and the backstop.

We never see or store your MT5 password. You paste an api2trade key and account id, and you can switch between Demo and Live accounts when you are flat.
